About Aurora Plastics

Aurora Plastics was founded in 1997 by three vastly experienced PVC professionals dedicated to meeting the global quality challenges facing the industry. We successfully grew the company for 19 years, and in August 2016, Wind Point Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan partnered to acquire the company. This provided Aurora Plastics the investment support required for new product development and geographic expansion, while allowing us to maintain a culture of excellence in product and service.

Expansion & AcquisitionFrom August 2016 to August 2021, Aurora Plastics company expanded from two manufacturing facilities to five. It made several investments in capacity expansion and equipment to better serve our customers’ increasingly demanding needs and expand into new markets, product platforms, and applications. These manufacturing sites were a part of the four company acquisitions (Plastique Reinier, S&E Specialty Polymers, JP Specialties South, and Elastocon) made during this period.

In August of 2021, Nautic Partners, a Providence, Rhode Island private equity firm, acquired Aurora Plastics. Nautic’s focus is to support Aurora Plastics’ continued growth into new markets, new products, and applications.
