This position will also be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting processes and will be hands-on to ensure proper accounting of business results as well as improve the quality of data on which decisions are made.

Your Unique Role

The Controller will play a key role in the continued development of the accounting and finance department and team within a fast paced, rapidly expanding manufacturing environment and will report directly to the General Manager.


As the Plant Controller, you will have the responsibility and management of the plant's finances including preparing month-end and interim reporting. The role will also: 

  • Ensure a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets including the accounting records, improve operations and maximize overall profitability.
  • Drive business goals, such as cost reduction initiatives, improvements in working capital and capital expenditure management.
  • Develop, update, and enhance accounting system for optimum accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and prepare detailed analysis of variances from Budget.
  • Manage the period-end general ledger close and management reporting cycles of a single reporting entity.
  • Responsible for the timely preparation of period end financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Assist with developing, documenting and implementing/managing internal financial controls.
  • Lead process improvements, automation and streamlining efforts within the ERP system, work with other functional areas on integration issues and the determination of appropriate workflows.
  • Manage the annual financial statement audit.
  • Budget and forecast preparation.
  • Manage preparation of required materials for audit and tax; serve as primary contact with independent auditors for annual audits.
  • Maintain expertise in applicable accounting principles and help ensure that new accounting guidance is appropriately considered and implemented.

Seeking a Candidate With:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA a plus
  • 5+ years of accounting leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • A strong general business background with good analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills with extensive experience working with all Microsoft Office products as well as integrated ERP systems.
  • You must have a passion for getting things done, and an appreciation for details. You must believe in continual process improvement.
