Your Unique Role

Reporting directly to the Molding Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading process engineering activities focused on cost, quality, and innovation in order to support the injection molding operation to support new business. You will be involved in collaborating on molding process and tooling design along with developing the best injection molded product solutions for our customers across the medical device industry.

  • Work closely with Product Development Engineering, Mold Development Team, Production, Manufacturing Engineering and the Sales team: to facilitate the release of new products into production.
  • Perform equipment and mold validations to insure budgeted cost and quality levels are achieved. Prepares required documentation i.e., validation protocols/reports to meet quality system guidelines.
  • Lead the process improvements of the molding operations, Develop, qualify, and validate injection molding and ancillary processes/tooling for new precision parts/molds.
  • Work with our Mold making team to fabricate molds and tooling for prototype needs, launches, and production.
  • Lead CAPAs related to injection molding processes.
  • Prepare technical reports and charts detailing mold and operational performance in relation to established goals.
  • Develop and implement mold processing/documentations standards and lead process/tooling training programs, especially with mold technicians.

Seeking a Candidate With:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a plastics, molding technology, engineering, or related field.
  • Previous/Current experience in injection molding manufacturing operations.
  • Detailed understanding of plastic part design, polymer materials, tooling, equipment (preferably including some automation), processing, validations (preferably medical), writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of injection molding process molds, and other processing equipment.
  • Previous experience working with common molding grade plastics.
  • Experience in Medical device molding preferred.
