Your Unique Role

Take your hands-on Engineering experience and become a Technical Leader with one of the leading Med Device and Automotive Injection Molders in the country.

  • Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be the one to manage a tool maturation process which achieves capabilities (Cpk) of > 1.67 on tolerances in plastic down to 10 to 20 micron
  • Coordinate tool feasibility and tool design meetings using a multi-disciplinary, cross-functional approach to ensure the tool design is optimized for manufacturing efficiency
  • Review and approve designs of all new tools and Engineering Changes before steel is cut (Sign-off responsibilities)
  • Function as “owner” of the PMC tooling standards and Mold Standards Manual. Update and improve as needed and ensure that all tools built meet the requirements set forth
  • Define the optimal gate locations, cooling systems, and delivery and runner systems to ensure the process achieves the desired quality and cycles rates
  • Be equally comfortable dealing with the tooling demands of medical and automotive customers
  • Participate in customer presentations and value-sell PMC’s tooling capabilities and tooling designs
  • Participate in estimating/quoting process for new tools on an as needed basis
  • Review tool performance (after 3 to 4 months production) incorporating lessons learned into the Mold Standards and future tool builds
