PLA Business Development Manager
(US & LATAM)

What Is PLA?

PLA

Impact By The Numbers

7.6 Billion

Current World Population

ExpandAs it increases, the key challenge is ensuring that all human activity is sustainable enough to meet the growing demand of everyone.

20,000

Water Bottles Purchased, per second

ExpandThe plastic bottle will be used and then hopefully reused and recycled, until the bottle is not fit for purpose. Then, it will either be incinerated or it will go to a landfill. As the original oil resources are not replenished during this lifecycle, the water bottle example is a linear model. Recycling alone is not enough.

9.1%

Percent of world economy that is non-linear

ExpandThis leaves a huge gap in sustainability efforts. We can do better. That’s why we are always searching for new ways to create a more circular economy for our business operations and our customers.

45%

Percent of US food, wasted in landfills

ExpandPLA is compostable, leading not only to less packaging trash, but allows more food waste to be diverted away from landfills.

2X

Amount of projected growth for PLA in the next few years

ExpandAggressive sales goals are aiming to have Total-Corbion as the largest producer of PLA, worldwide, by 2030.
